The white wisteria climbing the middle verandah post is a kind-of-new interloper in the front garden. Whilst it was still an adolescent plant, making tentative connections to the crazy swirl fretwork, the front of the house underwent serious cosmetic surgery. After being bashed about by ladders, covered in sawdust and decorated with paint, the wisteria was clipped bare – a barber’s #1. The following year…wow…plant on fire!
